MESTRE
CEBOLA
Trained by Mestre Lagartixa, Cebola arrives in France in 2000 and develops the Grenoble group. In June 2024, he receives the Mestre cord, recognising his journey and his commitment to passing on the art.
The group
From Brazil to the Alps, a shared wish: to keep capoeira alive, pass on its culture and build connections.

In Grenoble, generations of capoeiristas have learnt, sung and grown together.
NOVA GERAÇÃO CAPOEIRA GRENOBLE
Founded on 11 April 2000, our association promotes capoeira and Brazilian culture in Grenoble. Our classes bring together beginners and experienced practitioners, children and adults.
The practice is built around passing things on: movements, music, songs and the values of the roda. Since it began, the group has introduced and trained several hundred students in the art.
Workshops, batizados, gatherings and public events are also part of this adventure. Everyone brings their voice to the group.
THE PEOPLE WHO PASS IT ON

MESTRE
Trained by Mestre Lagartixa, Cebola arrives in France in 2000 and develops the Grenoble group. In June 2024, he receives the Mestre cord, recognising his journey and his commitment to passing on the art.

CONTRA-MESTRE
Maré joins the Grenoble group to support its growth and teaching. At the June 2024 batizado, his achievements are recognised with the Contra-Mestre cord.
CAPOEIRA IS FOR SHARING

OUR STORY CONTINUES
Mestre Lagartixa founds Geração Capoeira on 28 October in Montes Claros, in the state of Minas Gerais, to keep the practice and its traditions alive there.
After several journeys, Mestre Lagartixa settles in Switzerland and founds Nova Geração Capoeira in Zurich.
Cebola’s arrival marks the beginning of the Grenoble group. The association is founded on 11 April. Maré joins the adventure later.
In June, Cebola becomes Mestre and Maré becomes Contra-Mestre, surrounded by the group and visiting masters.
THE GROUP IS OPEN TO YOU
Whether you are a beginner or already practise capoeira, come and share the roda.
